What if Mitt becomes the president...
If you were his bishop could you call him and his wife to work in the nursery? And would the secret service agents help out? Would his hometeacher have to have security clearance? If he came to the ward halloween party would he have a costume on? Would the Washington D.C. 3rd ward sacrament meeting attendance double? If he didn't do his hometeaching would you call him in and give him a pep talk? Could you call him to serve as your second counselor? Just wondering...

Texas vs.
Two observations about Texas: 1) the people are friendlier than in California. They look you in the eye and have time for you and, 2) the woman don't dress like hoochie mamas, they dress like women. We really like San Antonio. Any other observations about state comparisons?

Dodgers! 2008
The dodgers have added two main components to their team WITHOUT GIVING AWAY ANYONE...brilliant! I see a 97 win season for them next year. Go Blue.
Man, keeping a blog up to date is demanding! Going to Texas for 2 weeks but here is something to talk about...
At a recent Republican debate Fred Thompson "refused to participate" in a question where the host would say "all those who think this way...raise your hand." I applaude him. I wish my man Mitt would have done it. Fred said that not all questions can be answered well, or honestly, with a yes or no - and he refused. The other candidates agreed and really put that host in her place. Finally a truthful and common-sensical moment in this weird political world. What do you think?

Dan In Real Life
Every once and a while a movie comes along that I just fall in love with. Dan In Real Life is the latest. I'm not sure why yet, but I think I could watch that movie 10 times in 10 days and like it each time. Anyone else seen it? What did you think?

Introducing Mr. Joseph Torre...
So, Dodger Fans, is Torre enough? What will he bring and what else do we need to take over the baseball world?

Express Jet heart attack!
So I'm leasurely flying back from San Antonio Texas on Express Jet. As we approach the Ontario, CA airport the pilot reports that Southern California is on fire and the Santa Anna winds are gusting up to 80 mph. Having lived with the Santa Annas for some time I have some sense of what we are dealing with. As we come into our first approach to land, about 200 ft. above the ground, the jet begins to jump and jive and twist. The pilot then lifts us back up in the air and we have another go round. The second time the same thing happens. They head off to land in San Diego where we sit in the terminal for two hours. They then announce that the winds haven't changed but we are going to try it again. So we fly back to Ontario (which only takes a few minutes) and try THREE MORE TIMES! On the second try passengers began to scream "we don't need this...go back to San Diego...stop trying." I, of course, was very cool headed except for the blank staring like some sort of Zombie being who is half dead. The whole time I'm saying to myself: the chances that this flight would be one to crash must be astronimical, but the whole time I pictured us somersaulting across the runway, wondering how it would feel to be covered in jet fuel. So, anyone else ever have a harrowing experience on a plane?
